Congrats to Cadence Weapon for winning Rap/Hip Hop Artist of the Year at the SiriusXM Indies. The awards took place on Friday, March 22 at the Kool Haus in Toronto which included a scorching live performance by Cadence Weapon. Cadence Weapon known for consistently pushing the boundaries and always producing art that's wholly his own, continues to receive heaps of accolades and praise for his Polaris nominated album, Hope In Dirt City.
Cadence Weapon is back with a new video for his hip hop anthem, "Hype Man," up now on Exclaim! and Stereogum who describes the clip, "Cadence adapts the personas of both a star rapper and his hapless, nameless hypeman sidekick...illustrating a vast divide in the rap power dynamic." Co-directed by Rollie himself and award-winning director George Vale, the video is a compelling and cinematic look at the seedier, darker side of hip-hop, exploring the plights and demise of a hype man.

Aussie garage duo DZ Deathrays get the Cadence Weapon remix treatment turning "Dollar Chills" into a beat-heavy track that blends minimal synths with heavily altered vocals. Sorta like those jive rhythm trax breakdancing records from the ‘80s crossed with nu shooz.
Cadence Weapon has stepped in to remix Liars "Brats" turning the track into a hip hop monster that even includes him dropping a verse above deep bass drops.
The remix is one of three that will be released on the upcoming "Brats" single, due out on 12" and digital download October 16 from Mute.
